Spider-Man: Homecoming
Yes, there have been a number of Spider-Man movies, but this one does promise to be the best of the lot. The official plot of Spider-Man: Homecoming has not been released yet, but from the trailers, it seems that it is staged after the events of Captain America: Civil War.
Peter Parker has already seen some of the greatest superheroes collide with each other and knows that the world will never be the same again. Would Peter be able to balance his life as an ordinary high schooler with fighting crime on the streets of New York as Spiderman?
Spiderman is one of the most recognisable, most optimistic and humorous characters, and this movie does promise to bring out the best of that and also augment it with depth and emotions.
Split
M. Night Shyamalan and James McAvoy? It’s a winner! Split is a 2016 American psychological horror thriller centred on Kevin (McAvoy) who has no fewer than 23 different personalities and kidnaps three teenage girls.
The combination of Shyamalan, who has gifted to the world masterpieces such as The Sixth Sense and The Village, and Scottish actor McAvoy means that this movie could leave us all on the edge of our seats.
Justice League
Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash… It’s the Justice League! Starring global household names such as Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams (as Lois Lane) and Jesse Eisenberg (as Lex Luthor), this could prove to be DC Films’ most successful movie yet.
War for the Planet of the Apes
Rise of the Planet of the Apes was brilliant and was so the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and the third instalment in the series, War for the Planet of the Apes, promises to be just as exciting and thrilling.
Following the events of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Caesar and his ape colony are fighting an army of humans in a battle which pits him against a ruthless Colonel.
The first instalment grossed over $480 million at the box office and the second more than $700m. One should not be surprised if War for the Planet of the Apes breaks the $1 billion barrier.
XXX: Return of Xander Cage
Vin Diesel is not exactly a great actor, but he has had a pretty successful career so far. Xander Cage does not do acting anyway; he is all about action, and that’s exactly what the audience is going to get from XXX: Return of Xander Cage.
Cage returns from a self-imposed exile to recover a powerful weapon known as ‘Pandora's Box’ but it is not an easy feat. If action is what you are looking for, then head to the cinemas this January.
