Alexander Skarsgard isn’t sure whether he’ll raise a family in Los Angeles.

The Swedish actor plays a vampire in American television series True Blood. It means he’s based in the US city, where he’s been for six years.

It’s only recently that he’s begun to view Los Angeles as home, and he still isn’t sure whether he’ll settle their indefinitely.

“I don’t know if I’d want to start a family and raise kids out here – I haven’t thought about that yet,” he said. “But, for now, I’m trying to make the best of the situation because I’m going to be here for a couple more years at least.”

Although for many the weather is a big reason to live in California, that’s not the case for Alexander. Portraying blood-sucker Eric Northman means he can’t have a tan at all while shooting, so it limits the things he can do in his spare time.

“It’s kind of tough living in California and not being able to go in the sun,” he laughed to Company magazine. “Playing a vampire for six months, I have to be pale. I don’t go to the beach at all. But I can now – I’m on vacation.”
