Josh Gad finds it "crazy" that Frozen is still so popular.

The American actor voiced friendly snowman Olaf in the 2013 animated flick, which quickly became the highest-grossing film of the year and the most successful Disney movie to date.

Princess Elsa was established as an idol for young girls with her long ice white locks and sparkly blue dress, but she isn't the only character the audience took a shine to.

"Frozen. People stop me on the street for an animated character, where they don't even see my face, on a daily basis," he told British newspaper Metro.

"No [I didn't expect Frozen to be so huge], it's crazy. It's two years later and it's still as popular. All of us - Idina [Menzel], Kristen [Bell], Jonathan [Groff], myself - we all pinch ourselves every day that we were a part of it."

Now Josh is busy promoting his latest film The Wedding Ringer. He stars as Doug Harris, a husband-to-be who hires Jimmy Callahan [Kevin Hart] to be his best man at the ceremony when he discovers he has no friends to fill the role.

The two actors got along famously on set, constantly laughing throughout, and it made things a little easier when shooting an embarrassing scene.

"There is a particular dog sequence in there that requires a little bit of my manhood and that was definitely an interesting scene to shoot," he recalled. "Even more interesting was having my 95-year-old grandfather see the film and report that it was quite a challenge to sit through certain parts."

Fans of Josh can next see him in TV series The Comedians with Billy Crystal and in upcoming film Pixels alongside Adam Sandler.
