Nicolas Cage’s son offered to fly with a Spider-Man actor – then realised he couldn’t as he’d forgotten his cape.

The Hollywood star has six-year-old Kal-El with his wife Alice Kim. Nicolas is known to be a huge fan of superheroes and comics, which is why he decided to call his son Superman’s birth name.

The 47-year-old star recently took Kal-El to see the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, which stars Reeve Carney as Peter Parker and his alter-ego.

Kal-El was delighted to be given a tour around the set after the show and so let Reeve in on a little secret.

“I’m Kal-El. This is my dad. I was named after Superman. I’d fly with you, but I don’t have my cape,” he explained, according to New York Post.

The young boy and his dad then continued to look around backstage and met with the cast.

The stars on the New York City show are known for being happy to meet and greet the audience.

In October, Catherine Zeta-Jones took her two children Dylan, 11, and eight-year-old Carys to the show.

They were lucky enough to go behind the scenes too, although things didn’t go to plan when they were faced with one actor still in costume.

“As Patrick Page, still fully costumed as the Green Goblin, went over to introduce himself, Dylan and Carys cowered behind their mom, who deadpanned, ‘They have no fear of goblins. It’s actors that make them a bit skittish,’” a source laughed at the time.
