Robert Pattinson only googles himself when he knows he’s said something “stupid”.
The actor has achieved worldwide fame thanks to his portrayal of Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies. He tries not to look at what’s being said about him online as sometimes it’s not that pleasant, but has admitted checking under certain circumstances.
“Sometimes [I google myself], but mainly for promotional purposes. Or if I think I’ve said something stupid, I check to see what the backlash is about. It’s mostly just damage control all the time,” he laughed.
Robert has admitted struggling with fame in the past. He’s so instantly recognisable now he can’t do everyday things without being approached by fans.
However, he would never moan about his position because he understands it also brings tremendous benefits.
“I’m living a life that I didn’t really know existed and I can kind of delay being an adult for a while,” the 25-year-old actor told Look magazine. “It’s fun. I get to meet really interesting people and it’s nice to work with people who think they are making something great.”
Twilight will end with Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and Part 2, the first of which is out later this month. Both have wrapped already and Robert has revealed which scene he enjoyed shooting the most.
“The honeymoon that we shot in Brazil, that was amazing,” he enthused. “And it’s great being surrounded by hot girls all the time. It’s the best thing ever. It’s why I became an actor!”
