Robert Pattinson ‘deserves big fan base’

(Cover) - EN Movies - Robert Pattinson “deserves the love” of his film fans, says David Cronenberg.

The British actor has garnered international recognition and a legion of female fans since starring in the hugely successful Twilight Saga as vampire Edward Cullen.

He appears in upcoming drama Cosmopolis which is directed by Cronenberg, who thinks Pattinson is worthy of such admiration.

"He is fantastic. He deserves the love of his fans. He is incredibly sweet, very funny, very intelligent and very capable when it comes to cinema,” he gushed.

“He is just a sweetheart and very professional. It was a wonderful film shoot."

Cronenberg says Pattinson was a joy to work with. The star set the mood on set – which was always a jolly one.

"We all had much fun doing the movie because Robert has such a great sense of humour. Any main character has a great influence on the tone at work,” he said.

“If you have a guy who's very difficult, neurotic or whatever, you can do whatever you want - everyone will have a bad day. But Rob isn't that way, he's just a sunshine."

Cosmopolis has been tipped for great success. Cronenberg is thrilled by the predictions.

"I'm shocked! I'm shocked and amazed and really happy. It proofs that movie fans are unpredictable and really interested and very passionate. It's fantastic. I never would have thought that this would happen,” he smiled to MTV.
