Laura Prepon wants UK romance

Laura Prepon has got her eye on a British boyfriend.

The US star has been in the UK to promote the second series of Netflix smash hit show Orange Is the New Black. She was recently linked to Tom Cruise, but Lauren says it's an English accent she's after and is officially on the hunt for a guy.

"I'm here to find a British husband, preferably one who's big and tattooed - and if he speaks with a Cockney accent that's a bonus," Lauren laughed to British magazine Now.

Orange Is the New Black tells the story of a woman who gets sent to jail for a decade-old crime of transporting money for her drug-dealing former girlfriend. Set in a women's prison, Taylor Schilling takes on the lead role of Piper, with Laura, 34, playing her love interest Alex.

Much has been made about the sex scenes, but Laura said it's just part of the job.

"There are 40 crew members standing around, but Taylor and I are so comfortable with one another and trust each other. It's a love story and sex is a big part of it," Laura told British magazine Grazia.

Aside from acting, Laura is also a keen filmmaker and writer.

After first finding fame in '90s teen series That '70s show, Laura decided to learn more about her craft.

"When I was on That '70s show I went to film school at night. I wrote and directed two shorts and a web series. Now my first feature film is in the pipeline. It's based on my unorthodox upbringing in New Jersey - it's kind of my Garden State [Zach Braff movie]. I'd love to direct an episode of Orange; to direct all these incredible actresses would be a dream come true," Laura smiled.
