Steve Carell 'producing International Incident'

Steve Carell is reportedly in talks to produce International Incident.

The funnyman will step behind the camera under his Carousel Productions banner should negotiations pan out, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

David Javerbaum, the former Daily Show head writer, sold the film pitch to Summit Entertainment and he will also write the screenplay, the outlet reports.

International Incident centres on five United Nations diplomats who band together to go on a road trip in search of their “lost loves”, according to the website.

The Hangover actor Ken Jeong is attached to star in the comedy, which will serve as his first stint as a leading man in a major motion picture.

Ken, who was a doctor before becoming an actor, voiced characters in Turbo and Despicable Me 2 in the past year, and producer Steve also lent his pipes to personas in these family films.

Steve has a busy year ahead of him, as he will be acting in and producing several upcoming projects.

In March it was revealed he will star in and produce forthcoming teacher drama The Priority List, Warner Bros’ big screen adaptation of David Menasche’s eponymous 2014 memoir.

THR previously reported the studio recently acquired the rights and Steve will work behind the scenes with his colleagues at Carousel Productions to get the feature up and running.

Carousel’s other live projects at this time include director Max Winkler’s film Our Thing and Mail-Order Groom, which is being co-produced with Tina Fey.
