Lohan: I'm willing to work

Lindsay Lohan wants to be known for her “talents”.

The Mean Girls actress will be making her West End debut in Speed the Plough in September. And the 28-year-old hopes her 10-week stint will change the perception that she’s unreliable.

“I want to be known for my talents and my work that I create, rather than a tabloid sensation," she told the BBC. “However long it does take, I'm willing to do it. I'm willing to work for it."

Since her early success in films such as The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday, Lindsay has become more renowned for her performances off screen. The star has been involved in traffic violations, shoplifting incidents and alleged assaults and has also been accused of being late for acting jobs. But Lindsay insists she has turned over a new leaf when it comes to her latest performance.

“That's not going to happen. That's not on the cards. It's not,” she said. "I'm at a place in my life where I like the commitment. I'm looking forward to that part of it."

The redhead is also excited to be spending more time in London, a place she has fallen in love with.

“I've noticed here, watching the news, you guys have such a different outlook. In the US starting at 5pm it's TMZ, it's all these shows talking about people's personal lives and here I don't notice any of that - it's news and politics and music,” she explained. "So it's nice to be able to turn on the TV and not everything is about gossip. That's a really nice feeling,” she said.
