Somerhalder likes women with moves

Ian Somerhalder thinks girls who can dance are sexy.

The hunky actor is best known for playing sexy bloodsucker Damon Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries.

He ended his relationship with co-star Nina Dobrev in May last year, but has recently been linked to Twilight vampire Nikki Reed.

Assuming he is still on the market, Ian has some tips for winning him over.

"Try dancing," he revealed to British magazine Women's Health.

"When someone can dance or you have rhythm with someone, it's really sexy."

The 35-year-old seems to have no problem with women on or off screen. But Ian insists it's not as simple as it might look. When asked which vampire power he'd like to have in real life, he chose seducing women so easily.

"If it were that easy, life would be so much simpler!" he joked.

When Ian and Nina split, they had been together almost two years. Luckily he has some fool-proof methods for getting over heartache.

"There are a million ways to get over it," he assured the publication. "You have wine, you have exercise, you have meditation, you have friends. Friends can be your meditation."

The Vampire Diaries is known for its racy scenes and chemistry is also important to Ian. He says he knows he likes someone when there's an "electrical feeling".

"You feel that connection and your heart beats faster," he grinned, before cheekily adding that his spirit animal in bed would be a black panther because it's "calm and sleek".
