Many years ago Public Enemy released a song called 'Don't believe the hype'...well, with new film, Avengers Assemble, DO believe the hype.

As a fan of Marvel, I was a bit apprehensive going in to the cinema, as I didn't want this film, that I had been waiting a lifetime for, to be a let down. Let's just say I needn't had worried.

Unless you have been in outer space, you will know that some of the greatest super heroes of all time have been pulled together, for the first time, to help save the world...

The film starts with Thor's evil, nasty, horrible, beastly, bad (that's enough Dean-Ed) brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) intent on destroying the world with the Tesseract (cosmic cube). Without giving too much away this action makes Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) call in the good guys & good woman, to help save the world.

The premier league of super heroes consists of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

Highlights, apart from some excellent lines, which include the peach, Loki: I have an army. Tony Stark: We have a Hulk, include a couple of brilliant super fights and the final battle in Manhattan is one of the best action sequences I have seen in a very long time.

Overall, the 143 minutes flies by quicker than Iron Man on a mission and the packed cinema I was in, all seemed to enjoy it.

Whether you are a fan of these kind of films or not I would highly recommend Avengers Assemble, it is over two hours of pure escapism entertainment.

I give it a Midas score of 9/10.
