Marc Bolan - The Celebration Concert

Marc Bolan and T.Rextasy fans rejoice: Marc Bolan – The Celebration Concert has just been re-launched (in DVD format) to coincide with the upcoming ‘Marc Bolan Memorial Concert’ this Sept. 15th, to mark the 35th anniversary of Bolan.

While the upcoming concert will no doubt be a spectacle to behold – with participating artists including Danielz/T.Rextasy, Steve Harley, Tony Visconti, Glen Matlock, Marc Almond, Boy George, Sandie Shaw, Lyndsey de Paul and Noddie Holder (to name but a few) - the DVD is a glamtastic memory of what went down at the Shepherds Bush Empire on September 2007.

‘Marc Bolan – The Celebration Concert’ managed to get filmed by B2B Productions back in 2007, and once again features an amazing line-up lead by T.Rextasy frontman and Bolan clone Danielz. If you weren’t able to be present on the night, then you can catch the hottest moments by watching the disc’s 130min of running time. Special guests during that event included Mungo Jerry’s Ray Dorset, Linda Lewis, Blondie drummer Clem Burke, Dr. Robert, Howie Casey, Tony Visconti and the Dirty Pretty Strings, Andy Ellison and Eric Hall.
One of the absolute highlights, however, came when Marc Almond performed his signature song ‘Tainted Love’ together with Gloria Jones (the hit’s original composer and of course, Marc’s former lover and mother to Rolan Bolan). Yes, the duet is included in the DVD – together with the very best that T.Rextasy have to offer (a band born to boogie!).
Apart from 31 bopping tracks, the DVD furthermore includes 16min of ‘Behind The Show’ / Interviews / Bolan fans’ footage, plus an individual song selection option.

All in all, an absolute must-have for any Bolan/T.Rextasy worshipper!

Thanks to Demon Records (in association with Born To Boogie Productions) the DVD is now available again, better still, it’s available in NTSC. I’m no techno geek, but presumably this means the DVD bears Region Code 0, meaning everybody can play this format on their players.
