(Cover) - EN Movies - Jim Carrey is set to star in heist movie Loomis Fargo.
The 51-year-old comedian was announced as the lead in the forthcoming project by Relativity Media on Thursday morning.
Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre helmer Jared Hess will direct.
ComingSoon.net reports the film tells the story of “a disgruntled bank employee who is ready to take a chance and risk it all for love, money, and a life he's only dreamed of”, and sets out to rob his place of work with a love interest.
The screenplay is based on true events.
Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn will produce the project, penned by Up All Night’s Emily Spivey with Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer.
Danny McBride, Jody Hill, Michael Aguilar and Kevin Messick will executive produce with Relativity chief executive Ryan Kavanaugh and President, Tucker Tooley.
Loomis Fargo is scheduled to begin production in North Carolina in April.
Jim is next scheduled to star in crime comedy Kick-Ass 2, about a high school hero inspired to fight crime in costume.
He will also appear in forthcoming comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, alongside Olivia Wilde and Steve Carell – in the title role – later this year.
Dumb and Dumber To is currently in pre-production for a 2014 release.
Jim is rumoured to be reprising his role as the dim-witted Lloyd Christmas alongside Jeff Daniels as partner-in-crime Harry Dunne in the follow-up to the Farrelly brothers’ 1994 hit.
