Liam Neeson can’t wait to see the new Batman movie as he hasn’t “a clue” what it’s about.
The actor portrayed the superhero’s nemesis Ra's Al Ghul in the 2005 movie Batman Begins. With the third and final instalment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman series, The Dark Knight Rises, due out next year, there has been speculation about whether Liam will be appearing.
Christopher has worked hard to keep the plot a secret, with Liam insisting he has no idea what happens.
“You're throwing me for a loop there,” Liam replied, when MTV News asked him about appearing in Batman Begins. “That's right. I was in Batman. I trained him.
“I'm eager to see this one. I haven't a f**king clue what it's about.”
The Dark Knight Rises has an all-star cast including Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy.
Gary has previously admitting shooting is so secretive Christopher has only verbally told the actors about the movie’s ending and hasn’t committed it to paper.
Liam is adamant that whatever the director has come up with it will be amazing. He particularly admires 2008’s The Dark Knight, which starred the late Heath Ledger. He died of an accidental overdose not long after filming, and went on to win a posthumous Oscar for his portrayal of Joker.
“Chris Nolan's made wonderful films, very rich, dark and complex, especially The Dark Knight,” he said. “Of course, it was cloaked in tragedy.”
There have been claims the final movie in the series will link back to the first. This is why many suspect Ra's Al Ghul will make an appearance.
Liam has been listed as part of the cast by some publications, although this could be because lines he spoke in Batman Begins are included in one of the movie’s trailers.
