George Washington’s hair is up for auction now at gottahaverockandroll.com

The hair is starting at $3,000 but the auction house estimates the hair to sell for $10,000 or more!

This hair was handed down directly from son to son of the descendants of Elias Hasket Derby, Salem, Massachusetts “merchant prince”. He has his wife personally acquainted with the President and Martha Washington. An exchange of letters on the subject of hair between Dr. George Derby accompanies the lot.

It does not get better than that for provenance, dating back to the 1780s.
