Disney Pixar sequel holds off anticipated releases from Despicable Me 4 and A Quiet Place: Day One

It’s a second big week at Number 1 for Inside Out 2, which fights off several big new entries on this week’s Official Film Chart.

The Disney Pixar sequel, which made the biggest debut of 2024 so far, was challenged by four brand new entries this week led by Despicable Me 4 (2) and horror prequel A Quiet Place: Day One (3).

The fourth instalment of Illumination’s Despicable Me series sees Gru’s family expand with the arrival of Gru Jr., while Gru’s old rival from school Maxime Le Mal returns to his life as a new nemesis to contend with. It takes this week’s Number 2 position ahead of A Quiet Place: Day One, the prequel to post-apocalyptic horror A Quiet Place, which debuts at Number 3.

Even more horror films are up next with Longlegs at Number 4, also debuting on digital downloads only, and 1991 classic The Silence of the Lambs at Number 5, which enters the chart for the very first time.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga drops four places to Number 6 as a result, finishing ahead of Amy Winehouse biopic Back To Black which leaps 10 to Number 7. The Fall Guy (8) and IF (9) follow close behind.

Finally, rom-com This Time Next Year enters the Top 10 for the very first time (10) in its fourth week on chart.
