It is also the number 1 studio globally, bringing in $5.46B around the world; making Disney the first studio to surpass $5B worldwide since 2019 and #1 for 8 of the past 9 consecutive years globally.
Disney dominated the box office for the year. In the UK having the top two titles of the year; Inside Out 2 led the charge as highest grossing UK film of the year with £59.2M ($1.7B globally), while Deadpool & Wolverine followed a close second with £57.6M at the UK box office ($1.34B globally).
Moana 2 (still on release) is also in the top 10 in the UK, sitting at number six and amassing £36.4M at the UK box office ($906M globally) before the close of 2024. Other films contributing to this achievement in the UK include Mufasa: The Lion King (still on release) 17.4M at the UK box office ($365M global to date), Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 15.7M at the UK box office ($398M global) and Alien: Romulus 13.4M at the UK box office ($351M global).
